Wednesday 25 February 2015 was a busy day following the government announcement (made through a ‘leak’ to the Daily Mail the previous day) of the removal of one of the limitations to the penalty powers of the Information Commissioner's Office in relation to Nuisance Calls.
Sadly, many media organs replicated a mistaken interpretation of the current situation; thereby exaggerating the benefit of the small, but necessary, change that was to be applied to the regulations - see “Nuisance calls - regulatory tweak - clarification”.
